Three Nagaland-registered omnibuses detained for violating re-registration deadline

Transport authorities have impounded three Nagaland-registered omnibuses for failing to adhere to the June 17 deadline announced by the state government to re-register the vehicles.

The inspection team found that the vehicles were in misuse of the All-India Tourist Permit, which is applicable for bulk bookings and events by tourists as well as transporting passengers.

It is understood that the buses will continue to be in the custody of the authorities until further instructions from the headquarters.

Officials said they have been issuing instructions to passengers to avoid traveling in buses registered in other states until they are re-registered in Tamil Nadu.
