Three missing children found dead in Vijayapura

The bodies of three missing children were found in Vijayapura on Monday.

Anushka, 10, Vijay, 8, and Mihir, 7, were reported missing from Gachinakarti Colony on Sunday.

It is said that the children followed a camel, which was taking the children on a joyful ride.

Their parents contacted police, who then scanned CCTV footage across the city. They found a blurry image of three children walking on the road. But police were unable to track them.

The bodies were found in a large tank at the sewage treatment plant in Shantiniketan Nagar city on Monday morning.

Police suspect the children may have accidentally slipped into the pool.

Parents complained that the pool was wide and deep and did not have adequate safety barriers.

Commissioner of Police Rishikesh Sonawane inspected the scene.

A case has been filed. The investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has registered Somotu case.

Committee member Sashidhar Kosambe said he had asked the district child rights protection committee to send a detailed report on the incident.
