National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday called for resumption of dialogue with Pakistan as the BJP-led alliance government came under attack from various parties in Jammu and Kashmir over recent militant attacks in the union territory “To stop the violence.”

Aditya Gupta, another Jammu People’s Democratic Party leader, said the terror attacks in Raisi, Kathua and Doda “were clearly coordinated”. “Yet there is a deafening silence from the local government and our elected representatives. J&K Congress president Vikar Rasool Wani has questioned the claims of normalization made by the BJP government in J&K.

He asked the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to respond to the developments in J&K. “We never claimed that militancy was completely eradicated during our rule. Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who visited a hospital in Kathua on Wednesday to inquire about the injured civilians, said: “Prime Minister Modi’s government is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.”

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated that his government “will not rest until terrorism and its sponsors are eliminated from the soil of J&K.”

“The anger (caused by the attack) is real. People should have faith in the valor, courage and intelligence of the police and security forces. We will not rest until we eradicate terrorism and its supporters from the soil of J&K,” he explain.

He also urged artists to “play their role in eradicating terror and those who incite terror” while pursuing different forms of art.
