There was tension in Tadipatri town in Ananathapur district on Monday after supporters of Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress Party clashed at polling booths.

The incident took place when sitting councilor and candidate Kethireddi Peddareddy and Tadipatri municipality president JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son, TDP candidate JC Asmith Reddy, reached the booth at the same time.

Leaders bickered over who should go to the polls first, leading their supporters to join in the heated fray.

Despite police intervention, the situation escalated and a large mob gathered outside the stall, throwing stones at parked cars. Five vehicles were damaged, including the MLA’s vehicle. Senior police officers arrived at the scene and tried to pacify the two groups. A case has been filed.
