Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on May 21 accused the Congress party and India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of “sabotaging the country” and Said Prime Minister Modi “will bring the country together”.

At a poll meeting in South Delhi in support of BJP candidate Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister exuded confidence that Modi will wrest back Pakistan’s occupancy if elected for a third time of Kashmir.

“Under his leadership, the country has prospered and is on track to become a world leader,” Mr Chouhan said.

“On the other hand, the Congress and Nehru were guilty of destroying the country. If (former prime minister) Nehru had not stopped the war (in 1947) and allowed it to continue for three more days, the entire Kashmir would have been destroyed if it had been part of India, there won’t be any control over Pakistan,” he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader claimed that if re-elected, Modi would take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He vowed to uphold the “pride of Mother India and the people of Delhi” and was confident that the BJP would win all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital.

Chouhan accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “cheating” those who helped him establish the Aam Aadmi Party. “He (Kejriwal) has deceived many people and marginalized them. From Anna Hazare and Prashant Bhushan to Kumar Vishwas, He betrayed everyone. Swati Maliwal Just been added to the list,” he claimed.

Assistant to Mr Kejriwal Bibhav Kumar arrested on Saturday for allegedly attacking AAP MP Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister’s residence. The AAP claimed that as Maliwal faced charges in an illegal recruitment case, she was being “blackmailed” by the BJP and became part of a “conspiracy” against the chief minister.

Chouhan lashed out at the opposition Indian bloc, calling it a “forced alliance”. “These people cannot run the country properly. They have not even revealed the name of the prime ministerial candidate. Only Prime Minister Modi can run the country effectively and take it to new heights,” he added.
