NDA unanimously elects Chandrababu Naidu as Andhra Pradesh House leader

National Chairman, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N. Chandrababu Naidu He was unanimously elected as the leader of the Andhra Pradesh House of Representatives by the partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The NDA leader later submitted a letter to Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, who will invite Mr. Naidu to form the government.

A meeting of NDA allies was held in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Janata Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan proposed Mr Naidu’s appointment as leader of the House, a proposal unanimously endorsed by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies. The meeting was attended by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Daggubati Purandeswari and elected MLAs of TDP, JSP and BJP.

NDA allies will submit letters of support to Mr Naidu to begin the process of forming a new government. The letter of support along with the number of MLAs from each JSP and BJP will be submitted to the Governor to formally advocate for the formation of the government.

Meanwhile, the elected MLAs of JSP elected Pawan Kalyan as their floor leader.

In the assembly polls, the TDP won 135 seats, Jana Sena 21 seats and the BJP 8 seats. Politicians are discussing that Mr Pawan Kalyan may be proposed to accept the post of deputy minister and five posts from the Jana Sena Party in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also likely to get 2 cabinet posts in the state government.
