Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves creation of 46,491 new posts in health department

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet on June 11 approved creation of 46,491 new posts in the health department, meeting for the first time since the Lok Sabha polls.

“The Cabinet approved the creation of 46,491 new posts (regular/contract/outsourced) in health institutions and approved filling of 18,653 of them over the next three financial years with an annual recurrent expenditure of Rs 343.29 crore. The remaining 27,838 posts It will be filled through the National Health Corps as before,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya told reporters after a cabinet meeting.

“According to the Ministry of Public Health and Medical Education, 607 positions out of 1,214 vacancies in seven specialties including anesthetists, medical specialists, gynecologists, paediatricians, radiologists, orthopedists and surgical specialists have been approved through direct Recruitment is required to fill up and permission to be obtained accordingly, the cabinet brief reads: “We are requested to fill up the vacant posts by issuing advertisements through the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. ”

The Cabinet also approved a subsidy of Rs 24,420 crore to be provided to various power consumers after revising electricity tariffs in April 2024.

“Of this, a subsidy of Rs 6,000 crore has been approved for domestic consumers, Rs 13,000 crore for general category farmers and Rs 5,000 crore for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe farmers,” the minister said.

The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on assuming office for the third time.

Mr. Vijayvargiya said the Cabinet congratulated Mr. Yadav for winning all 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state and for the Madhya Pradesh MLAs who have been inducted into the Central Cabinet.

Three Lok Sabha MPs from the state have been appointed Union Cabinet ministers, including Jyotiraditya Scindia, Virendra Kumar and former chief minister Shiv Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Two tribal councilors – Savitri Thakur and Durga Das Uikey – were also appointed as ministers of state in the new NDA government.
