Dharmapuri Collector reviews progress of critical infrastructure projects

District Magistrate K. Shanthi inspected various ongoing development works in Harur block and called for expediting the progress of the works and opening the facilities for public use at the earliest.

The Collector reviewed the community health campus (CSC) being constructed in Agraharam panchayat at an estimated cost of Rs 3.50 lakh, as well as the classrooms being constructed under RBIOCGS at Andipatty Pudur in Gauthamapatty panchayat. She also inspected the houses of Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam and two beneficiaries of the Rural Housing Repair and Reconstruction Programme.

At the Harur town panchayat, Ms Shanti visited the new bus stand and library construction projects and directed officials to complete them by July-end. She chaired a review meeting with the block development officers of Harur and Paapireddipatty unions to assess the progress of the survey conducted for Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam and the shortlist of beneficiaries under the Rural Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Scheme.

The Collector also inspected regulated market compounds, including godowns, office buildings and cold storages, and sought the views of farmers on these facilities. She met farmers and officials to discuss the usefulness of the pan-India e-portal in selling the commodity and directed officials to create awareness among rice farmers and expand use of the portal.
