BRS activists and students detained for protesting at Osmania University

On July 9, as many as 20 members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BRS), including 10 students and 10 party activists, were detained by Osmania University (OU) police in Hyderabad.

University of Oregon Police Inspector Rajender said the preventive detention came after the group staged a protest late Monday in front of the School of Arts building on campus.

“The protests are demanding postponement of the District Selection Commission (DSC) examinations by three months till October,” the official added.

A day earlier, 130 members, including student activists and job seekers, were taken into preventive detention in Khairatabad after they staged a protest at the office of Commissioner and Director of School Education in Saifabad on Monday.
